Compare and Contrast
Intro
-Hester Prynne and Arthur dimmesdale lived in a small town in Boston. Sadly enough Hester and Arthur committed the sin Adultery. Arthur and Hester had many similarities and that was a great portion of their love. but on the other hand they had many differences.
Similarities
-Hester loved pearl ,even though she was and elf child. Dimmesdale loved pearl to he was the father of Pearl. Both of the two lovers felt many things. They both felt shame because they broke the law adultery. Adultery is when you have an affair with a married person. They would also be feeling sin. If you get into that kind of crime nowadays its not ok but it is not looked upon so fondly. Back in the 1600 hundreds it was looked upon very harshly. Another similarity was they both loved their jobs. Hesters job was a sower she sewed for the rich people but she still loved it. Arthur's job was a minister. He loved what he did and had a desire for his work.
Differences
- When two people are very alike you would think that they don't have a lot of differences but Hester Prynne and Arthur dimmesdale had many differences. One difference is Hester was married when she committed her sin with Author. Aurthur was not married. Arthur felt guilt when he did not tell the town that he committed the sin with Hester. This is saying that they did the same sin but they felt differently about what they did. One of their differences was there was the way that they felt the guilt. Hester felt it when people would look at her and star. She would have to wear the A on her shirt and let everyone look upon her. Arthur felt guilt very differently. He felt it when he saw peral with out her father and he felt it when he would tell the people in the church to not be sinners and what not and he was a sinner.
