1521.Calvinism was founded by John Calvin, another major protestant. Lutheranism and
Calvinism were similar but had some differences. Rituals and worship were similar and had
some differences. Community life was more different than similar. Calvinism and Lutheranism

differences with the church. After Luther’s views were condemned he started the religion

sure the children must pray before they eat or the get neither food nor drink. (359)Women
should get married and give birth to as many children as possible. Luther believed that it would
help the community grown big and to become strong.
Calvinist churches had services five times a week. Calvinist serves included ceremonies that
lasted for hours. Like Lutheran, Calvinists used only 2 servants they found in the bible: baptism
and the Eucharist. Calvinist was not allowed to sing opposite to lathers. Luther’s loved to sing in
churches. Community life was very different to Lutherans but had some similarities. Calvinists
believed that each community should be a place where god is the supreme ruler and religious
officials governed in gods name. Lutherans did not believe that was the way to go. Guests at
local inns had to be in bed by nine o’clock at night. This rule applied to the people that lived there.
If they did not obey this they were banished from their hometowns.History alive pg 359-352)
